Company History

Quest Optical, Inc. was incorporated in June 2004 and is located in Boca Raton, Florida. The initial focus of the company was chemistry research and development and delivery systems to provide solutions for multiple industries such as ophthalmic and electronic, improved hard coatings both thermal and ultra-violet to protect surfaces and improve yields at reduced costs.

The research and development effort has successfully produced improved and proprietary hard coating formulas with associated delivery processes for the multiple industries worldwide. Quest successfully developed a patent pending HYBRID CROSS LINKING TECHNOLOGY (HCLT), lens coating process that has been thoroughly tested and is in production with clients worldwide. The Company’s technologies successfully delivers clients a compelling value proposition that delivers improved production yields and finished product quality with extended life and performance that results in significant cost savings over current alternatives. The Company’s technology team has also developed improved Photochromic solutions which are just being introduced into different markets.

The Company’s management team currently has a combined 175 years of ophthalmic industry experience and electronic applications with extensive engineering development backgrounds holding a combined fourteen (14) successful commercialized industry patents both in chemistry and mechanical processing delivery systems. Our team has a deep understanding of chemistries and coating technologies and a working knowledge and experienced skill sets in production and processing, lens manufacturing, machine and process solutions and design. In addition, an excellent working knowledge of the ophthalmic industry provides Quest extensive knowledge to provide consultation services to clients. As an example the Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Al de Rojas in 2008 was awarded the Life Time Achievement Award from the Optical Laboratory Association (OLA) for contributions to the industry.

Quest's vision is to become the largest developer and producer of coating solutions and delivery processes for industries including ophthalmic, electronics, entertainment, home improvement, flooring industries and others who require extended life hard coating solutions that improve yields and reduce costs of their finished goods.

Due to Quest’s new proprietary manufacturing process HCLT, Quest is able to manufacture multiple ultra-violet curable and thermal coatings with specialized coating viscosities and thicknesses as required by specialized industries. This capability enhances coating applications whether it’s for Anti Reflection Coatings, Mirror Coatings, Tinting, non-tintable with Extreme Abrasion Resistance.
