History of our company

Quest Optical, Inc. is currently the ophthalmic industry leader in UV curable hard coating technology with eight (8) different UV coatings available for any customer and every need.

Using, our patented HCLT, “HYBRID CROSS LINKING TECHNOLOGY ™” , as the base starting point, Quest develops and manufactures the highest abrasion resistant coatings with the best substrate material and AR adhesion on the market. All Quest ultra violet curing coatings are made under the Quest patent umbrella to the highest tolerances with state of the art equipment to ensure that each batch is exactly the same.

Quest was founded in 2004, with a research and development goal, to improve on the industry’s UV coatings, which were suspect at best.  From 2004 until October of 2007, the company was engulfed in an on-going R&D project.  Quest's goal was to develop and produce the finest UV curing coatings in the world.  It is with great pride and pleasure that we announce our success.

Since launching its newest product, UVMP, in November 2007, the company has quickly risen to the top of the ophthalmic industry by developing a UV product that has no competition as far as quality, ease of operation, abrasion resistance and adhesion properties. In addition, Quest is developing the machine products needed to improve the processing of the high tech lenses of today and for the next two decades.

Not only does Quest deliver solutions for UV curing technology, it has also developed and now manufactures primerless thermal coatings. These coatings boast very high Bayer ratings in the 10’s.  Our other products are designed to help the industry lower spoilage and scrap percentages. From products that help in the edging of super hydrophobics without slipping (EdgeRight™), to products that replace the surfacing tape without the issue of air pockets above the seg line (SurfaceProtect™),

THERMAL COATINGS:

QT-1 = A non tintable, primerless hard coating that replaces current dip coatings easily and performs very well with great adhesion and very high Bayer
Rhino-Q = A non tintable, primerless hard coating with a 10 + Bayer that is simple to use with superb adhesion and abrasion resistance.

LENS PROTECTION PRODUCTS:

SurfaceProtect™ = A replacement for surfacing tape without the air pockets that cause power errors and waves on lenses after surfacing
EdgeRight™ = The best product for edging super hydrophobics without slipping or turning
LensGuard™ = Protects lenses during shipping by providing a film covering the entire lens that can be removed easily by the retailer without damaging the AR or Mirror coating. It is the best way to ship expensive uncut lenses to customers so that the lenses are not damaged
FilmOff = A mild detergent solution that aids in the removal of the products listed above

OTHER PRODUCTS:

Clearly = The best lens cleaner on the market. Works equally well with AR and non AR lenses
TintAid = A product that ensures perfect tinting every time. Clean the lenses with this product before tinting to have brilliant and perfect colors without streaks or smears
